QuestionsTencent – Remuneration
ashz asked 5 years ago

Hi, this is on the management segment – whether a management is paying himself/ herself too much.
I am looking at Tencent.
Out of 72,471m profits, the total payment for senior management and C-suites amount to about 1,800m which is about 24% of profits. Is that ok? Not even sure if my numbers are accurate but I got it from the Notes 13 and 14.

Hi Ashz,
Looking at note 14 of AR2017, the total director remuneration is RMB297.1 million. There net profit attributed to shareholder is RMB71,510 million. Hence the director remuneration to the profit is only 0.42%. I will say the amount is quite low.

The figure is only based on the Directors’ and the chief executive’s emoluments
