QuestionsCategory: Valuation QuadrantPerpetual Securities
Victor Lee asked 2 years ago

Hi!
When valuing companies according to the excel template, should I exclude perpetual securities in “No. of Shares” and “Profit Attributable to Shareholders” and instead add the perpetual securities value to “Total Debt”?
This stems from the article by The Edge which considers perpetual securities as debt – https://www.theedgesingapore.com/portfolio/perpetual-securities-are-debts-not-equity-heres-why
