QuestionsCategory: Financials QuadrantNet earnings (basic and diluted)
Faith Yeo asked 2 years ago

Hi Victor and Rusmin,
I notice the annual report always has basic and diluted net earnings per share. Which one am I supposed to use in my calculation and what do they refer to?
Thank you.

Hi Faith,

Diluted earnings take into account the possible future dilution of the number of shares. Most of the time, you should be using the basic EPS but if you want to be conservative, you can use the diluted EPS figure.
