Hi Augustine,
Welcome to the course!
We have various case studies and examples placed throughout the course itself. For example, in the lesson on ‘Understand the Business Model’ – we use case studies of Hartalega and Wilmar to put our point across and help readers understand the concepts taught inside faster.
You’ll find more elsewhere in other lessons and modules too – ‘High Recurring Revenues’, ‘Avoid Disruptive Change’, etc., in the Management Quadrant, Entry Stratagies, etc.

Augustine Lim replied 7 years ago

Hi. Thank you for your reply. Will you have separate case studies that you guys are currently vested? For example during the one day course in Suntec, you guys mentioned Overseas Education and ARA.

Song StoneCold answered 7 years ago

Yes , if there is a seperate section where it shows your current portfolio will be great. I mean dont need to write excalty how may shares u holding now , just which counters u currently vested will do

Augustine Lim replied 7 years ago

Yes. I second that!

The Fifth Person answered 7 years ago

Haha thanks guys. We’ll look into that.
We’re very mindful about sharing stocks per se because investing must be done with proper due diligence and an independent mind. Under regulations, we are also not allowed to recommend any stocks to anyone (hence our disclaimer).
We’d much rather have you understand what it means to invest in a company, the risks you need to look out for, and whether the potential upside is worth it. Having the personal ability to invest successfully is priceless – which is why we created this course in the first place :)

Augustine Lim replied 7 years ago

Hi. Yes. I believe all of us understand that you are not allowed to recommend. However by showing the portfolio you guys have does not constitute any stock recommendations. Hence, I believe it will be very useful if could add this as a feature so that we can do our own research too with the portfolio of stocks you have. With this feature, I am sure more will join this website. Please consider seriously.

Augustine Lim replied 7 years ago

I know you guys practise bottom up investing through value investing. Can I suggest to have a feature in this website to include the macro economic outlook such as interest rates, economic growth, etc as this will also affect the stock market. Please consider as well

Augustine Lim replied 7 years ago

Would like to add that it is great you give us the knowledge to learn here. But in order to enhance our learning process, it is really very very useful to show us your current portfolio and let us know by using the tools we learn, why is this particular stock selected. in this way, we will be able to do our own research using the tools we learn here and understand how is it used. There will never be any stock recommendations in this instance.

As you might be aware there is a certain Millionaire Investor Program which update its members every quarter on the stocks they buy. It will be great it can be replicate here too. I am sure you know what I mean as you were once part of the team :)

The Fifth Person answered 7 years ago

Hi Augustine,
Yes, we’ll take a look at incorporating a portfolio feature in the near future and we’re sure lots of people will be interested in it as well. As of now, we didn’t mention it as part of the course on the sales page and we don’t have one :)
MIP’s portfolio service has a yearly membership fee as well which we do not charge for this course.
But not to worry, from what we hear – if what you’re interested is in why we selected a particular stock and our analysis on it, this will be covered during our coaching webinars. So please do attend them if you can! :)

Augustine Lim replied 7 years ago

Ok. I am sure many members here will look into the portfolio feature in future and I am sure many more will join the features in this website are enhanced. As for MIP’s type portfolio service if you do have one in future, we would appreciate if there will not be a fee charge for the pioneer generation members here. Thank you very much

admin replied 7 years ago

Thanks for your kind suggestions, Augustine! :)

The Fifth Person answered 7 years ago

As for a module on macroeconomics, we’re don’t focus extensively on that topic, so it wouldn’t be nice for us to teach something we hardly use. (That might change if we start using it more in the future.) As for now, we can only teach and share the same strategies we personally use ourselves :)

Augustine Lim replied 7 years ago

ok. noted on this

Song StoneCold answered 7 years ago

I am a member of wealth academy by Adam Khoo . He does share his portfolio and it does attract ppl to attend his course . Having said that, i think the fifth person putting up such good contents with a lifetime updates is really value for money. At this price i really cant ask for more. I can see the sincerity in you guys in sharing. Thats why i joined this course without hesitation. Keep it up guys. When you guys make it big in the future , hope you dont forget us who joined u as pioneer members. Hope there will be a “pioneer package” to reward us  in the future lol just like what our government reward our pioneers now.Cheers !

Augustine Lim replied 7 years ago

Yes. I fully agree with StoneCold. Share with us the Fifth Person’s portfolio and also hope to have a pioneer generation package for us. And yes, it is really value for money for the contents you provided compared to “other” seminars I attended. Keep it up guys and will ask more people to join once there are more features in here. Thanks!

TripleEight replied 7 years ago

Yes, I fully agree with StoneCold and Augustine regarding value for money for the contents we are getting here. One time payment for life membership – hurray to the pioneers!

The Fifth Person answered 7 years ago

We’re BIG fans of Adam Khoo as well. In fact, our office is based right in his office right now! So we get to see him every once in awhile :)
Thanks guys for your utmost support! It means a lot to us that you’re with us at the very start. Of course, our “pioneer members” will be held in special regard but our ads definitely won’t be as cheesy as the government’s! LOL.

Is it possible for your team to put up more articles for each modules and also articles that explain the formulas or equation that use to value companies so that we as subscribers can comprehend more rather than those short summaries like those yardsticks(P/E ratio, P/Sales, DY%) used by your guys when come to value particular companies

Neo answered 7 years ago

Sharing with us your watchlist will be useful for us too. thanks

Augustine Lim replied 7 years ago

Hi admin

Seems that there more members requesting to share your portfolio instead of just me. Really hope you can add this feature soon. Thank you

Chun Yan Koay replied 7 years ago

hi admin, I am asking for putting up more articles, definitely portfolio sharing is nice to have too.

Neo replied 7 years ago

by watchlists, i mean stocks not in the portfolio yet but potential to buy stocks as it hasn’t reached the price

Augustine Lim replied 7 years ago

Yes. Please do it soon for the sake of members here

flyingsaucerman replied 7 years ago

Yes I agree. I think the main problem with the course's content is that The Fifth Person have already shared a lot of them freely on their blog, which is why there is some overlap and some people find it not value for money. I believe a lot of people like me are after the real case studies and your current portfolios (not your whole portfolio or course, maybe just a few stocks you are invested in and why, using the tools you have taught in the course. preferably a little undervalued one or at a fair price). you can constantly harp on making some money on breadtalk and super group, but those are already in the past and honestly anyone would be able to say that for any stocks if they had risen over the years. it may sound a little harsh but this is not criticism, just my honest feedback
