QuestionsCategory: Stock ScreeningHow to generate investment idea effectively?
Andrew Tjhie asked 6 years ago

Hi Rusmin / Victor,
I usually read SCMP, Singapore news, the Edge, and sometimes browse the security list on the respective stock exchange, but I have been really struggling to generate investment idea. I think partly those companies I found tend to be disappointing (i.e. I don’t like the financial or sometimes the business model) and can be quite stressful at times. Is there anyway that I can look for investment idea in a consistent and systematic way? Thank you.

Hi Andrew,
Good companies are hard to find. Rusmin and I spent most of the time throwing lousy companies away. If you want to speed up the rate to look for good companies, you should try screening the financial for companies that have more than 15% ROE and below 1x debt to equity ratio.
