I was calculating a company’s financial and valuation ratios (eg PE ratios, profit margins) on Excel from their annual reports when I realize all these information and ratios are available free on Morningstar. Do you rely on websites like Morningstar or Shareinvestor, or do you still calculate the numbers yourselves? If the latter, why? It seems like a lot of time when it’s readily available free.
Thank you!

Just a personal observation, morningstar numbers are sometimes incorrect. So do double check the numbers ^^”

Hi Harry,
As what mentioned by Jieren, sometime the 3rd party data can be inaccurate as we sometime collect data differently from them. My suggestion is that you use the 3rd party data for initial screen and after that collect the data yourself.
