I like your concept of understanding what you buy, referring to the example of Hartega Vs Wilmar. I often have problems researching for this, e.g, sometime back I bought 500 shares of Ventures. Despite going through their website and whatever else I could search for, I am still not clear on what they produce and sell – only have superficial knowledge about what they make. How does one know where to research and get this info if not on the Company website?

Hi Vibhas,

I will read the yearly annual report of the company and competitors’ annual reports to get an understanding of the business.

Sometimes, I will read analyst reports to understand too.

Hope this helps :)
